Fans of the hit series Grown-ish (2018-Present) are very excited for Season 6, but they are also getting ready to say goodbye to their favorite show because Season 6 will be the last time we see the Johnson kids in action.
Grown-ish is a spin-off of the hit show Black-ish. It follows the children of the Johnson family as they go to college and start their journeys to becoming adults.
One of the best things about Grown-ish is that it shows how complicated life in college can be. From the pressure to do well in school to the difficulties of making new friends and figuring out who you are, the show shows college life in a way that is realistic and understandable. It also talks about important social issues.
Throughout the series, the characters deal with problems like academic scandals, mental health, police brutality, and social media activism in a way that feels natural and real. These storylines are treated with care and sensitivity, which has helped the show become a voice for social change.
As fans get ready for the last season, they will probably talk about how they think the show will end. Will the characters finish and move on to the next part of their lives?
Will there be any changes or turns that come as a surprise? Will it be a good ending to a popular and important series? Here’s what we know about the show’s last season.
When and Where Does Grown-ish Season 6 Come Out?
Grown-ish Season 6 is in the works, Freeform said on January 11, 2023, a week before Season 5 starts. But soon after the end of Season 5, on March 29, 2023, it was said that it would be the last season.
There will be two parts to the last season of the show. The first part is set to air on June 28, 2023, and the second part is likely to air in 2024.
We don’t know exactly when Grown-ish Season 6 will come out, but the first parts of Seasons 4 and 5 were both released in July, and the second parts came out in January, so we expect Season 6 to follow a similar release plan.
Grown-ish Season 6 will air on Freeform when it starts, and it’s possible that Hulu will also let you watch it. You can now watch the last five seasons of a show on Hulu.
How Many Episodes are in Grown-ish Season 6?
During Season 6, Grown-ish will show its 100th episode, which is a big deal. Since Season 5 just ended, there isn’t much information about how many episodes there will be in Season 6.
However, since Seasons 4 and 5 each had 18 episodes (split into two parts of 9 episodes), Season 6 might also have 18 episodes, with each show coming out once a week.
What Happened on Grown-ish Before?
In the first four seasons of the show, Zoey (Yara Shahidi), the oldest daughter, went to college at the made-up California University.
After Zoey graduated from high school, the focus of the fifth season moved to her younger brother, Andre Junior (Marcus Scribner), as he started college. Junior worked hard in Season 5 to get out from under Zoey’s shadow and find his own place in school.
Who is in Grown-ish Season 6?
Most of the main characters from Grown-ish are likely to come back for the show’s last season, though details have not yet been announced. Fans can expect Yara Shahidi to play Zoey one last time, and Marcus Scribner will play the main character, Junior Johnson.
Trevor Jackson, who plays Aaron, Diggy Simmons, who plays Doug, Daniella Perkins, who plays Kiela, Justine Skye, who plays Annika, Ceyair Wright, who plays Zeke, Tara Raani, who plays Zaara, and Amelie Zilber, who plays Lauryn, will also be in the show.
Also, some original Grown-ish cast members who have since left the show, like Francia Raisa, Emily Arlook, and Jordan Buhat, made guest appearances in Season 5 and could possibly make a final goodbye appearance in Season 6 as well.
Yara Shahidi has also hinted that some exciting guest stars, like the famous rapper Lil Yachty and the talented Anderson, will show up in Season 6. Paak & the Free Nationals, as well as other artists.
What’s the Plot of Grown-ish Season 6 About?
Grown-ish has a big fan base because it shows college life in a way that is approachable and true to life. The show is known for its sharp humor and witty dialogue.
The writers have a knack for coming up with clever one-liners and funny situations that still feel real and have meaning. As the characters face the realities of life and the move from college to the real world, the final season will probably also be about growing up and finding yourself.
The sixth season will be all about Junior Johnson, just like the fifth season. This was hinted at by what happened in Season 5, when he struggled to find his own place in the world while his sister Zoey was so successful.
Now that Junior is about to be the main character, the viewers will be able to follow his journey as he goes through the ups and downs of college, such as dealing with money problems and changing relationships.
As Junior tries to find his place on the varsity team and get away from the weight of his sister’s image, he is sure to meet new people and face new situations that will test his resolve and push him to grow as a person.
Even though the show’s main focus is shifting, fans of Yara Shahidi don’t have to worry because the well-known actor will still be a big part of the story, even if it’s in a supporting role.
As Junior’s bigger sister and a kind of mentor, Zoey is expected to keep giving her brother advice and support, helping him figure out how to live in college and where he fits in the world.
With this promising idea and the show’s signature humor and heart, fans can expect an emotional and satisfying end to this beloved series.
