Sunny Deol on How Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 Competed at the Box Office!!
Gadar 2 starring Sunny Deol and Oh My God 2 (OMG 2) starring Akshay Kumar will both be released on August 11, 2023. In a recent interview, Sunny, who co-stars with Ameesha Patel in Gadar 2, was quizzed about the competition between his film and OMG 2.
Sunny recalled the 2001 battle between his film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Aamir Khan’s Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India. He stated that he does not comprehend ‘why people compare’ movies when there is ‘no comparison’ between them.
Sunny was queried about this year’s numerous box office rivalries. When asked what he thought about Gadar 2 competing with OMG 2 on a Friday, the actor stated that a fine film should not be compared to others.

“Gadar grossed more than 100 crores, while Lagaan grossed much less. I do not comprehend why people compare, whether from a business or likability perspective. People misunderstood Gadar to be an old-fashioned film with old-fashioned tunes. On the other hand, people considered Lagaan to be timeless, etc.
Gadar had been thoroughly slandered by the so-called film critics. It eventually became a popular film, and they adored it. At award ceremonies, I recall that they made a parody of Gadar, but it did not disturb us. It has also occurred with some of my other films, including Ghayal and Dil. There is no comparison, but people enjoy making them anyway.
Sunny continued, “What I’m attempting to say is that if you enjoy this film, you should consider watching other films as well. Why is it necessary for individuals to compare this film to others? Films that cannot be compared to one another should not be cast against one another.”
